Experts don't agree on much, but one thing they do agree on is the best ways to increase our chances of living a long healthy and purposeful life.
Eat well
Exercise regularly
Get plenty of sleep
Stay away from excessive bad behaviors
Purpose in life
Spiritual involvement
But is it me, or about the time you get your thinking straight (40) the body starts to slowly breaking down.
Vitality waisted on youth.
Realizing your mortality.
Eyes, knees, hips, and even back start failing you. We begin losing muscle mass, and accumulate more body fat as our metabolism begins slowing down, contributing to weight gain.
The cycle of decay.
What if I told you there was a simple solution. A way to retard the aging process. Well guess what...there is.
Caloric deficit - researchers have found that people who cut their calories slowed the pace of their aging by 2% to 3% compared to those on a normal diet.
Exercise - people who performed high levels of exercise were found to be nine years younger than those who were more sedative.
Sleep - many don't recognize the toll that lack of sleep has on our overall health. Follow a regular sleep schedule getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night.
Alcohol and Smoking - drinking alcohol can speed up the aging process because it dehydrates our bodies. Robs our skin of it's moisture, causing it to appear rough and dry. Cigarette's, on the other hand, harm nearly every organ of the body, causing smoking related diseases that take years off your life, and in some cases lead to death.
Purpose in Life - Having purpose in life has shown to plan an important role in protecting us against diseases such as Alzheimer's, disabilities, cardiovascular problems, and impairment.
Spiritual Involvement - Faith or spirituality can provide us with extra stability as we cope with life's daily challenges.
These are just a few examples the experts agree on, and not just for 'life' but quality of life.
Positive and meaningful things that impact our lifestyle.
To the very end.
So what are you waiting for. Take a stand in your life. It's never too late.
